Why it matters

DHL Supply Chain’s new Whiteland location, which is less than 20 miles south of Indianapolis, gives the company easy access to Interstate 65, a major regional thoroughfare that connects from Indiana through to the South, terminating in Alabama.

The company operates seven other sites in Indiana, employing approximately 1,100 associates, spokesperson Glennah Ivey-Walker said in an email.

"We are always looking for opportunities to expand our footprint, especially in states like Indiana that are strategically located to offer greater connectivity to our networks," Ivey-Walker said.
