Why it matters
E-commerce growth isn't just a U.S. affair, and domestic businesses are looking to fulfill demand from online shoppers worldwide. Delivery providers have capitalized on this opportunity by launching services and inking deals catering to international shipping for online orders.
Geodis' MyParcel service first launched in 2020 with service out of Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and it currently provides delivery from the U.S. to 26 European continental countries, the United Kingdom and Canada. The added gateways in New York and Los Angeles will aid its expansion into new markets like Mexico, Australia and New Zealand, the release said.
Once a MyParcel shipment enters its destination country, expedited ground transportation ferries the package to the customer's doorstep. Delivery times range from two to seven days from the U.S. to the final destination, the release said.
